Although I’ve begun to feel more like a human being again, I’m still recovering from jet lag. When most of us use that term, we believe we are talking about adjusting to abruptly changing from one time zone to another, like going to or from Daylight Saving Time.
A few years ago I made a trip to the States and chose to fly the Dreamliner to find out whether it made enough of a difference for me to feel it. I intentionally didn't do this when the 787 first came on the market. Boeing "streamlined" its approach to designing and building new models of aircraft, starting with the 787, and the loss of some engineering rigor showed in worrying early problems. I waited until those seemed to be resolved.
The higher cabin pressure made a huge difference in how I felt after the flight. My "jet lag" was greatly reduced. It's roughly a 10 hour flight and I felt more like I normally would after a 3 hour flight.
Fascinating. I had no idea about the details of cabin pressure and the Dreamliner differences.

I am claustrophobic and can't fly unless I take 1 mg Lorazepam, so I'm on the drowsy side until the next morning.
I'm glad I don't have that problem. Needing to cross the Pond by surface transport would not be very practical for me.
