Well done! I am hoping that earthworms will appear in the areas I amended with compost as well. Hard clay doesn't allow for them, as you know. Spring report from Oklahoma - first purple martins March 4. Robin singing before dawn today.

Earthworms were trying to break into our clay before, without much success. All they wanted was lots of rotting organic material dug in to break up the clay. I look forward to hearing from you that earthworms move in at your place, too.

Signs of spring! Hurray! We got crocuses & daffodils blooming around the village, and now we're about to have the coldest night of this winter. But spring will return. We are so, so eager for it!

It looks wonderful and so much more useful. Congratulations. After all that hard work, it's paying off nicely.

Thanks. The grass needs repair in every growing season for patches where the dogs tear it up in the cold season, but it is surviving reasonably well. It isn't the hopeless case we had before. As soon as we made our place more hospitable to nature, Mother Nature began helping us. For example, earthworms have moved in everywhere. We didn't have many before. They seem very happy now and are improving the soil further, for which we are grateful.

That is wonderful news. It's impressive how nature returns once the land is made ready for it. It'll be interesting to see how it does in the Spring & Summer seasons.
