The greenhouse is a wonderful addition. I have a covered patio with translucent roofing panels and it is my haven in winter. It kept most of my succulents and summer annuals alive even during the brief deep freezes. I know the excitement of seeing your plans for your yard reach fruition - albeit one step at a time. It's a creative outlet for you and V. It's artistry!
Having a place to protect plants without dragging them all into the main house makes such a difference, doesn't it? We've begun germinating seeds of a few types that can be started this early. We don't have enough space for this on windowsills inside, but the greenhouse has plenty. So far only the sweet peas and spinach have actually begun to come up. We got terribly excited when the sweet pea plants appeared! Yes, it is creative. I'm not much of an artist but V is. And it's therapeutic, somehow.
When I had my 2 acres in Maine, I spent about 20 hours a week just caring for the flowers and veggies and fruit trees. I called it my "medicine." I wish I had had more time to actually relax in all that beauty, but being a single mom and a "starving" artist negated that option. Still, I am so glad I had that experience. Even picking out unwanted lacebark elm seedlings by the hundreds in my nascent native wildflower garden, and watching the rain and wind scour away some of the seeds, is still an exercise in hope. Therapy, yes indeed!

Two acres... we would love to have that much space...
