Oh Bonnie, And now bird flu is effecting the mammalian population. I just read your article to my husband and he will be taking necessary precautions. Thankfully, I don't go anywhere, so I'm good! Take care and I hope you were able to do the necessary work for your job when you received your package!

I'm glad you are staying safe and your husband is willing to take precautions. Taking precautions against one airborne disease works against all the others too, so you are protecting yourselves from more than one thing. If H5N1 learns to human-to-human transmission before most people get serious about precautions, you'll be okay.

As with most things, once harm to people or environment starts to affect the almighty bottom line, things start to change.

Sometimes that's true. In the UK, Brexit has had and continues to have a significant impact on the bottom line while the powers that be pretend it isn't happening. Many of our economic problems are difficult to disentangle from that. But the expanding burden of illness is distinctly separate, so maybe changes will start to occur.
